So occasionally I like to blog about really random things other then dedicated hosting or cloud hosting and such.  I love technology and telling the world about new things that I find very useful.  This is one of those devices that I think is going to change the world.  I don’t know if this exact device will, but something like it is certainly going to make history and Jack Dorsey is going to be leading the way!

Twitter creator Jack Dorsey has a new project that he has been working on that I love and find very useful . Originally known as “Squirrel,” the name has been changed to “Square” probably for people to remember better.  The square is a hardware/software combination for a mobile device (that will first be launching on the the iPhone/iPod touch which you can see in the video) that allows vendors to easily accept and process credit card payments.

TechCrunch reporter MG Seigler reported “I had a chance to catch up with Dorsey today at the new Sightglass Coffee (which Dorsey is an investor in) in San Francisco. In the video below he talks a bit about the idea behind Square, and then we do a demo in which I actually buy mine and Dorsey’s coffee at Sightglass (one of the merchant launch partners for Square). It’s a bit hard to see the iPhone’s screen due to the daylight, but you can easily see just how fast Square works for transactions.
