NetHosting Explores the Dropbox Hosting Platform, Releases Case Study

by Rebekah Perkins

NetHosting adds to its collection of website case studies with a close-up look at the data storage and sharing sensation, Dropbox Inc.

Orem, UT NetHosting, premier provider of Cloud, Dedicated Server, VPS Server, and Virtual Hosting solutions since 1994, recently released a case study exploring the past, present, and future of the Dropbox hosting platform.

Dropbox is a free and paid service that lets users cache data files in the Cloud for instant accessibility wherever there is an Internet connection. NetHosting’s case study tracks the service from its origins in the dorm rooms of MIT in 2007 to its current user-base of over 4 million, with a special focus on the evolution of the application’s server infrastructure.

“NetHosting’s hosting options are more than equipped to handle any size of application or website,” said NetHosting’s CEO Lane Livingston. “We’ve done case studies of today’s most popular online destinations to show our customers what they can accomplish with what hosting platform.”

NetHosting has explored the hosting platforms of many popular websites, applications, and services to give its customers an inside glimpse of the server requirements of the top-visited websites online, including Facebook, Wikipedia, YouTube, Groupon, and many more.
